About MBTI Calc

MBTI Calc is a simple MBTI compatibility calculator for comparing personality type matches, chemistry, and relationship dynamics between any two of the 16 personality types.

Why build a type-match calculator?

Maybe you are an INFJ wondering how you and an outspoken ENTP colleague will get along. Maybe you run a project team and want pairs that cover one another’s blind spots. Or maybe you simply enjoy comparing personality notes with friends.

Lists of “best matches” are easy to find, but they rarely explain the numbers behind them. MBTI Calc gives every one of the 256 possible MBTI pairs a simple 0–100 score, so you can see at a glance where a pair stands and why.

How the score comes together

We start with a five-star compatibility reference chart and translate it into a 0–100 score. One star becomes 40 points, two stars become 55, three stars become 70, four stars become 85, and five stars become 95.

Then we nudge the figure in two small ways:

  • +5 points when one person’s dominant function lines up well with the other person’s auxiliary function, such as Ni with Fe.
  • +3 points when the pair balances J and P.

Scores never rise above 100. The final result is grouped into a plain-language label, so the score is easier to understand at a glance.

How to use it

  1. Pick your type from the first dropdown.
  2. Pick the other person’s type from the second dropdown.
  3. Press Calculate. A score and short notes appear immediately.

You can also use Share to download a small PNG image of the result. It has a clean white background and contains no personal data.

Where people use it

  • Dating — a light ice-breaker before the first meet-up.
  • Friendship — a fun way to compare personality rhythms with friends.
  • Work — matching mentors, code peers, study partners, or collaboration styles.
  • Classroom — a quick demo tool for personality and communication discussions.
  • Self-review — seeing how your own type tends to interact with others.

A quick reality check

MBTI is a popular personality model, but it is not clinical and it does not predict relationship success, hiring outcomes, or life decisions on its own.

The table here blends community-style compatibility references with basic type and function logic. It is best used as a conversation starter, not as a final judgment.

Real relationships still depend on communication, values, timing, maturity, shared goals, and the real choices people make with each other.

What’s next

We are continuing to improve the calculator, compatibility pages, share images, and educational content around the 16 personality types.

Ideas, corrections, and feature requests are welcome. You can drop us a note. If the calculator saves you time, share the link with a friend; word-of-mouth helps keep the site useful and lightweight.

Good to know: MBTI Calc is designed for lightweight personality exploration. It is not medical, legal, financial, hiring, or relationship advice.
